I’m proud to announce that we have won 5 awards from the Louisville Graphic Design Association. 2008 has been a great year for us, and we’re happy to receive recognition from our peers for the graphic design, web design, and programming work we do.

Without further ado, here are the pieces that won:

VIA Studio Website

This is definitely the one I’m most proud of. Doing work for yourself is near impossible with a room full of opinionated crazies. I think we pulled it off quite well, and all of us here are proud of our new branding. We tried to include our snazzy new letterpressed business cards in the show, but unfortunately they were about 2 weeks late for the entry deadline.

VIA Studio 2007 Christmas Cards

Last year’s Christmas cards were something we had quite a bit of fun conceptualizing. We essentially stole Coudal’s idea for the Field Notes journals they sell. We wanted to do something a little more special than just a Christmas card, and it felt good to us to create a small journal that people could use to scribble notes on. Our Christmas gifts this year were going to be even more amazing, but we hit a snag with the company making them. More info on that story soon!

Robert Rich Website

The website design for Robert Rich was something that we were very attached to, because he’s a personal friend, and we’re big fans of his music here in the office. I’m proud that we could come up with a design that really spoke to his brand of ambient music. Building the Discography section from scratch was somewhat challenging as well.

Floyd Memorial Hospital Website

This was definitely the most challenging of the web designs we took on this year. When doing research for the design of the site, I was hoping to be able to take cues from other hospitals that have come through a solid design process. It seems as if hospitals are a little behind the curve on their websites. I did not find many that have put much branding and marketing thought into their sites. Therefore we had to start from scratch. Luckily Floyd has a great brand that was fun to implement on the web.

B’s Purses Fall 2008 Catalog

B’s Purses has been an amazing client. We’ve been able to work with them over the past few years to build their brand identity from scratch, and implement it through all the media that they produce. The catalog and the seasonal update allow us to work with a strong graphic identity and push it in new and different directions. Every season is an fun challenge, and it makes me happy to see it recognized.
