Roof Collapse at Butchertown Market

This is the view from my office window today.

We were all a little nervous walking up the stairs this morning, as an ominous sign on the front door to Butchertown Market read “Due to heavy rains, all shops on the first floor will be closed today.”

I haven’t been downstairs, but by the looks of the roof collapse here, it could be bad. A roof like this can hold a lot of water. Luckily this happened in the middle of the night, or we might have had injuries.

Please keep our friends and neighbors in your thoughts. They will have a lot of work getting their shops back in order. Work the Metal, Cellar Door Chocolates, Kentucky Ale, and Canoe. I’m not sure if any of the businesses in the back were affected.
